Whether you’ve chosen a traditional church wedding, manor house or barn wedding venue here in the Cotswolds, sit back and and let her inspire you with her ideas for dressing your day perfectly.

How would you describe your floral style?

Country chic – perfect for barn wedding venues like Lapstone Barn, but we also love creating incredible arrangements at any type of venue, including traditional church weddings around the Cotswolds.

Did you arrange all of the flowers for your own wedding?

The girls in my shop created our wonderful wedding arrangements. I am sure they felt a huge pressure but did an amazing job!

Hand tied bridal bouquet in whites and soft neutrals, perfect for a barn wedding venueWhat was in your bridal bouquet?

It was all ivory flowers with a little foliage. David Austin Roses, peonies, spray roses, lisianthus, astrantia, campanula, freesias, eryngium Thistles, brunia, scenecio, rosemary and olive. The bouquet in the photo is actually my own wedding bouquet!

At this time of year, gardens are packed with floral inspiration – what are your top five picks of the season?

Peonies, stocks, antirrhinums, hydrangeas and delphiniums

What are the big current trends you are seeing in wedding flowers this year?

A lot of our brides are going for timeless, classic, elegant ivory flowers. My favs!!

Will every bride want a flower arch after seeing Harry and Meghan outside St George’s Chapel?

I do hope so, we will be investing in much larger ladders to help us create such spendour!! Flower arches work just as beautifully at smaller wedding venues – not just St George’s Chapel!

What did you think of Meghan’s bouquet?

It was beautiful. Understated and delicate but the detail was divine.

A lot of barn wedding venues, like Lapstone Barn, have high ceilings and light airy spaces – how do you fill beautiful spaces like this?

With very dramatic arrangements. Luxurious, organic and elegant displays, steering clear of anything too contrived.

Dramatic floral arrangements at Lapstone Barn, which fill the light airy spaces typical of barn wedding venues

You are on a desert island and can grow one flower, what would it be?

Peonies!!!!! Of course….

Shelley knows Lapstone Barn well and would be delighted to talk through your floral wedding thoughts for the venue over the phone or email, or alternatively pop in to her shop in Broadway for even more inspiration. Her contact details can be found on our Local Suppliers page
