After an incredibly busy summer of planning, designing and managing a schedule of builders, plumbers, carpenters and decorators it is wonderful to finally say that Lapstone Barn, the Cotswolds’ newest wedding venue is open for business.
Nestled amongst the rolling hills of the North Cotswolds, renovated and lovingly restored to its former beauty, Lapstone Barn is the epitome of a luxury wedding venue. The barn is set on the stunningly beautiful Northwick Estate, only a stone’s throw from Chipping Campden and we are pretty sure it is set to be one of Gloucestershire’s top wedding venues.
Lapstone Barn has a rich history and has been everything from a milking shed to an artist’s studio, to a furniture making workshop. And now a stunning Cotswold wedding barn! The renovations have been carefully managed by Katie Bonas, one of our Directors, and a brilliant team of tradesmen. Katie says “The project has been a true labour of love and I am so excited that we are now officially up and running as the Cotswolds’ newest wedding venue. It has been a stressful few months and there were times when I couldn’t imagine we would make it to this point – but we’ve done it! And I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results….now I hope our future brides and grooms will agree”.
The renovation project has included construction of a new kitchen, extension of the loos and removal of a first floor mezzanine to open up our beautiful Stone Barn. We have laid a gorgeous new stone floor in the entrance, as well as metres and metres of solid oak flooring throughout the main barns. We have taken one staircase out, and put a new one in, rewired, replumbed, repainted and redesigned.
As Cotswold Barns go, we think Lapstone Barn has it all. For winter weddings, we have a cosy snug and a log burner in the Tanner’s Bar to keep all your guests warm throughout the day. For summer weddings we have a delightful courtyard, filled with lavender – sit, relax and enjoy your day with your friends and family. If you are inviting lots of little ones, there is plenty of space outside for garden games and to let them let off steam, or just an extra space to enjoy a glass of champagne and a cocktail!
Whether you grew up just down the road or you are coming to experience the breath-taking beauty of the Cotswolds for the first time, Lapstone Barn is only 90 minutes from London and 45 minutes from Birmingham, and all your guests can join you for the perfect day. Only 5 minutes away is an award-winning luxury hotel and down the road are a plethora of cosy cottages and bed and breakfasts available to stay in.
